[Donnie sighs, not quite relaxed- he's not sure he'll ever be able to fully let down his guard around here, but he nestles into that security offered.]

Hope so... This place makes everything...hard.

[Between the two of them, Donnie is clearly the more physically capable and better able to deal with monsters and horrors. But if he wants to lean on Edward for emotional support, Edward will be there for him.]

[Edward goes quiet for a moment.]

There's someone new here who is like me, with spider abilities. She's from the future and knows all about the internet and technology. I told her she should introduce herself to you at some point, since it seems you have some common interests.

[He smiles a little, wistful. It's felt like forever since he'd talked to anyone about such things.]

[Edward tries the American slang out; it feels and likely sounds silly coming from his mouth, but not in a mocking way.]

She tried to explain the internet to me. I think she decided I was a hopeless case when I asked if it was a global telegraph system.

[Donnie huffs a faint laugh at that.]

Does she know what timeframe you're from? I don't think that's too bad a comparison to start with.

It's essentially the same thing. I'm sure that the modern internet expanded from ideas born from the telegraph used in an- er, back then.

[Donnie coughs out a laugh, angling away from Edward with a weak bat of a hand.]

Well it is! It's older than dad!

[He cackles, having never before been called a rapscallion but he is absolutely tickled.]

[Ah, that's much better. That is exactly what Edward wants to hear, and a big grin spreads across his face.]

[Oh, it feels good to laugh again. Donnie only realizes what Edward's intent is when he sees that smile. He smiles back even if the man can't see, sighing as he relaxes a little against him again. ]
